AT Shoutout: Jeff Weinstein

In 2017, Jeff Weinstein started contracting with ATvantage as a young professional. It was his first solo position as an athletic trainer (AT) and he was excited to take on this opportunity that had autonomy but also provided support to grow, which many positions for young professionals tend to lack.

He started with us in a 700-hour contract at Bolsa Grande High School and picked up youth sporting events that we had available on the weekends. He was one of Bolsa Grande's first ATs on campus and made a huge impact with his dedication and can-do attitude.

After a few years with ATvantage, he made a leap to pursue other opportunities in the southern California area and then in 2021 relocated to the east coast where he is from.

His love and passion for surfing ended up bringing him back to California, landing in San Diego where we had recently acquired new contracts and had openings. When Jeff saw our posts for these new contracts, he was excited at the opportunity of contracting with us again. He reached out for more information and after a site visit at Morse Senior High School on-boarded with us once again. We were thrilled to have Jeff back and after his visit, both he and Morse Senior High School felt they were a great fit and were excited to work together.

His 28-hour-per-week contract at Morse gives him the flexibility to surf every morning in the beautiful San Diego waters and provides the space for him to make time for his passion outside of athletic training. This balance is something we are passionate about providing to ATs and encourage those who contract with us to organize their schedule in a way that works for them and their site.

Jeff Weinstein said, "ATvantage provides me the opportunity and support I need to be the best athletic trainer I can be while allowing me the freedom to pursue other passions of mine like surfing and continuing education."

Since Jeff's time at Morse, we've received incredible feedback from both the AD, Mr. McNair, and the Assistant Principal, Mr. Lincoln. On site visits, his student-athletes have raved about his dedication and the gratitude they have for him getting them back to their sports after injuries. To say Jeff has made a lasting impact on this school is an understatement and we couldn't be more thankful for his service to his site and our company.

"Jeff's excitement for athletic training and providing a resource to student-athletes that they may not otherwise have access to it is felt by all those who interact with him. His previous experience with ATvantage made this opportunity a no-brainer when he decided to move to San Diego and we are so grateful for his continued dedication to ATvantage and the profession." - Ginny, Director of Operations

We'd like to say a huge thank you to Jeff for not only the value he has added to the multiple sites he has worked at, but his dedication to ATvantage. ATs like Jeff are what motivate us to continue pursuing our mission of providing non-traditional opportunities that fit various needs because as we know, athletic training isn't one size fits all, and can be practiced in a way that works for your unique needs.
